KUDZUVIPER
Just rebuilt my hydraulic pump, getting ready to install...what is the best/proper fluid to use? The fluid reservoir says use factory approved brake fluid, In other forums they advise ATF A, is this clear or does it have a red dye color? I was going to use power steering fluid, it is a mostly clear looking oil, will that work? Any hints/suggestions on what to watch out for (preventing leaking, etc)? billorn
Transmission fluid is a common substitute. It doesnt hurt paint if it leaks. Windows might work a little slower but an acceptable trade.
gdcont
I've used ATF in my pump for several years now. In the cold weather they work a bit slow but I don't have to worry about paint problems if they leak.
abelincoln
I have a tractor in addition to the LC, so I use NAPA tractor fluid. Seems to work as well, and smells much better when spilled. Abe
