Dustinsfarmall
This is on a hay press that I purchased but I was told these are automobile wheels. What would they originally came on and what is the possible year of them? Thanks Edited September 25, 2018 by Dustinsfarmall (see edit history)
keiser31
Well, I can tell you that they are Cadillac hub caps.
keiser31
They look almost like railroad wheels. Budd DID make auto wheels.
Dustinsfarmall
Yes they are Cadillac hubs. I think the wheels are approximately 32” tall. I was told that the wheels had rubber on them until it was in a barn fire.
keiser31
I was going to suggest solid rubber for a big truck, but I have never seen a solid rubber tire wheel with the rubber missing.
1912Staver
Yes that is what hard rubber wheels normally look like without the rubber. Not necessarily from a big truck , even some 1 tons were on hard rubber. I have not seen a Bud wheel with those nifty name plates before. Probably quite early in Buds wheel manufacturing history. nzcarnerd
You can see the slot on the other side of the rim where the locking ring goes on. I think we are looking at the backside of the wheel.
keiser31
I don't think the BUDD tag would be located on the backside of the wheel. Edited September 25, 2018 by keiser31 (see edit history)
