John Kelso
Does anyone know if someone took over Bernie Dewinter's reproduction side mount mirror business. Is anyone out there reproducing them for Classics? Thanks John
John_Mereness
No one took over Bernie's business as far as I am aware (he ran his business from his basement workbench with very limited castings runs and ....). Rick Bloomquist was making nice mirrors though passed away a year or so ago. There was also a fellow in East Coast, though no longer recall his name
Owen_Dyneto
Perhaps the fellow on the East Coast that you were thinking of was Jay Fisher who made a huge array of various mirrors. But he gave up the business some years back and to my knowledge no one picked up his tooling or operation. I recently loaded a See-Rite sidemount mirror with clamping base for 33-34 Packard metal sidemount covers to American Arrow for reproduction, perhaps they have others as well. Yes, made very nice mirrors - made me a set for a 31 Cadillac.
