Help identifying truck

41 - 46 Chev.  Hood side trim on GMC is a plate that says "General Motors Truck".  OP pic doesn't show grille but bars are vertical on Chev and horizontal on GMC.

Maybe, but apparently that feature (it seems to be only on the big trucks) carried through to 1946 civilian production after the war. The new "Advance Design" trucks, a complete redesign, came out only a year later in 1947.

 

Here is a big truck still hauling fruit for the company that bought it new in 1946. It has the cut out fenders. This truck was never military. It has been blue and black since the beginning.
