Would they leave the auto clutch lever on in manufacturing, Incase the customer wanted to add auto clutch or should I assume there was an auto clutch on this car? And if not what to do with auto clutch lever as in photo???

I think it’s just amazing the engineering and mechanics they did back then. Designing and building all those links and levers was incredible.
