yachtflame
Looking for old sealed oil filters with fittings on the top, used around 1926-1940. They look like large soup cans with the two tube fittings on the top. Wayne Elsworth 413-658-4416 yachtflame@yahoo.com
30DodgePanel
We’re all looking for them from that era. Been looking for a purolator SA2 for 4 years with no luck. Let us know if you ever find the mother load...

Auburncoupe
What are these off from? I think I have several.
auburnseeker
They were somewhat generic. Many 30's cars used them. Mopars for sure in the 30's. I think maybe Lincoln and Packard . Probably the more expensive cars as the cheaper cars were just that cheaper and didn't have them from the factory but could easily be added to most cars. cahartley
Chevrolet sold add-on, one time, oil filters for their late'ish 20's trucks and I would presume cars as well.

edinmass
Wayne....Johnnie and I make these........they are billet and perfect, they take a Chevy screw on filter inside. They are on countless Pebble Beach winners. One time and done........550.

yachtflame
Ed, Those are real nice! I use original canisters with the spin on adapter inside but with no bottom. That way you don’t have to remove the unit and scratch the paint when changing the filter. And mine are only $425. Wayne
edinmass
Didn’t know you were doing conversions.........usually ours are used on 100 point and high point cars where oil changes are less often than drivers. We make clams for some cars also. All you need to do is use electrical tape on the inside of the clamp with epoxy paint and they don’t scratch. We have sold a bunch over the years. The gap in the filter is covered by the brackets that hold them in so you can’t see them.
