MickyDC
I noticed what I believe to be sway bars that are missing the bolt that connects them to a bracket up by the transmission. Does anyone know the dimensions of this bolt? I don't want to drive my car until I get this fixed.
CarlLaFong
Model "A"s don't have sway bars. Are you talking about the radius rods or "wishbone"??
jpage
The front radius rod has a ball on the rear end that fits into a cup moulded into the bottom of the flywheel housing. There are 2 bolts that extend down from inside the housing and are fixed in place. The radius rod ball sits in this depression and is fastened with a cupped cap to these 2 bolts. If one is broken or missing, the bellhousing must be removed to replace the bolts which are available at the Model A parts houses. If the rod is not secure the front axle will "rock" and can cause breakage of the housing in extreme cases.
