What are Symptoms of BAD subframe/body mounts? Are BAD subframe/body mounts common?

Recommended Posts

I don't think the answer is as simple as you would like.

Mileage has a lot to do with the wear on the rubber parts.....if they fail from use, then you better look at ALL the rubber mounts on your car.

The other condition (in my opinion) is where you live.    Cars in areas with snow and your area uses some sort of chemical to melt the snow and ice causes rust on the cars.

The rusted mount works like sandpaper on the rubber part....we also see mounting bolts that have rusted thru and the sub frame then drops down.

The rusted mounts wearing on the rubber parts, will also open up the clearance and cause a bump or thud as the parts move around.
