1950 Studebaker Champion Clutch

Recommended Posts

It sounds like the spot welds on the clutch release cross shaft in the bellhousing may have broken.  The transmission and bellhousing will need to be removed to reweld the fork to the shaft.

They are through-the-floor pedals so look at them under the hood and see why the pedal is on the floor. It seems to me something is broken if it is right down. You may have to roll underneath to see where the problem is.

No, you're crawling UNDER the car to see why the pedal rests on the floor; not 'maybe'.    Suspended pedals cars from 1961 (1963 in Champ trucks) & later had suspended pedals where one could see a portion of the linkage by looking under the hood.
