PASCOCLASSICVEHICLES
My 40 Pontiac Business Coupe hood won't stay up. I think the springs are fine. I took one out and the strength seems to be intact. Was there an additional part that kept this hood up beside the springs. No one seems to have the answer from replacement part companies. Any one out there know. Ben Bruce aka First Born
Welcome to the forums. Been a long time, but I believe there was a support rod that held the hood up. The springs helped "balance" as the hood is lifted. Probably hinged near the Nose and fitted into a hole or clip in the hood near the nose of it. keiser31
There is a video on YouTube that shows a 1940 Pontiac with the hood up and the hood support is on the driver's side.
