For Sale Rolling 1950 Hudson Hornet Pro Touring Hemi Project. 5.7 Hemi, Dodge 545RFE 6 speed auto trans, Fatman Fabrications Mustang II Front Frame Stub, 9 inch w/Strange 31 Spline Axles, Spool, Body Media Blasted, Epoxy Primer, Paint Ready. Engine, Transmission, front and rear suspension installed. Many components necessary for completion included.

 

 

1.Complete body was media blasted inside and out and then urethane bed liner was applied to the entire interior and bottom of car.

2. Body work completed by Brickhaus Restorations in Tempe, Az. Car is ready for paint. Epoxy primer coating. Includes Hood, Trunk and both front fenders.

3. A Powder Coated Fatman Fabrications Mustang II Stage IV Front Frame Stub was professionally installed. Stainless A Arms, Coil Springs, Shocks, GM Disc Brakes, Power Mustang Rack, Front Sway Bar. Square steel tube extensions tie stub into unibody to improve rigidity.

4. Installed: Powder Coated 9 inch Lincoln Versailles rear end. 31 spline Strange Axles, Spool, 3.73 gears, Sway Bar, Panhard Bar, Icon Gas Shocks, Disc Brakes. Rear end setup by Robert Neriz Racing in Laveen, Az.

5. A 2015 5.7 Hemi from a Ram Truck with less than 4,000 miles installed. Custom Built Motor/Trans Mounts Urethane/Rubber. All original operational power steering, air conditioning on serpentine belt in place.

6. 2003 Dodge 545RFE 6 Speed OD transmission installed. Includes a shift kit and freshly rebuilt by First Choice Transmission, Phoenix. 

7. Original front and rear seats complete and in good condition.

Choice of 2 different dashboards complete. Original headliner with bows in correct position. Sale includes a rolling 4 door Hornet parts donor car along with boxes and boxes of original parts includes Stainless mouldings and several bumper sets.

8. New Hotwire stand alone wire loom to connect engine to trans and to car.

9. New Diablo Tuner

10. Original Dodge Fly by Wire Gas pedal.

11. 2 Hotwire verified factory computer brains

12. Original in good condition front windshield and rear window. All side flat glass is new from Bell Auto Glass Phoenix, Az.

13. New Champion brand all aluminum custom radiator.

14. New Aluminum radiator mount plate and 2 electric fans.

15. New Custom aluminum fuel cell with in tank pump by Moosehead Radiator in Indiana.

16. Original Dodge A/C, transmission lines, as well as assorted fuel and brake lines, cables.

17. The entire original Hudson front radiator wall, radiator mount, headlight buckets, and side engine compartment panels have been powdercoated black. Thousands of dollars in powdercoating!

18. Clear Arizona Title with Az personalized plate HHORNET.

19. New Custom Stainless Steel Headers.

20. New Brake Master and Booster.

 

With over $ 28,000 invested in this car it is well on the way to being an amazing build. The goal was to build something different ! Hudson Hornets ruled NASCAR in the early 1950’s. This car was being built to be fast yet dependable, be able to corner, and still have a classic look: Resto Mod. Why build a Ford or Chevy when you can build a real Hudson Hornet. I see that you have removed the "tugs" that ran between the firewall and the front sub frame rails. They sort of looked like braces, but that were tethered by rubber straps on one end. They were there to help diminish the drumming noise that the firewall makes without them. Unibody cars and these Hudsons, in particular, have a lot of road noise. Now would be a good time to do some research into the issue and make some changes and additions. I can remember the old guys that drove these cars when they were still relatively new would stuff old rugs and blankets between the rear wheel houses and the rear fenders and pound them in hard to lessen the noise that those wheel houses created. Now would also be a good time to install a Hornet 308 engine. If this car is a '50, then it is a Super, Commodore, or a Pacemaker, but not a Hornet. The Pacemakers are a few inches shorter and usually easily identifiable, but I can't tell from the photos.

Yes the VIN shows it as a Pacemaker. With all the extra parts the new owner can make it into a Hornet Clone or call it whatever he likes. Thanks for all the input I appreciate your comments.
