Diagnostic Code E024

When I check diagnostics, every now and then I see a code E024  (speed sensor) in history. It never shows up as current. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've also never experienced this.  Hopefully someone will chime in to help, Ronnie.

I cleaned the connector going to the speed sensor. Too rainy today to test drive to see if the code returns.

Sorry have heard of the VSS going bad but never saw it. It only sets in 4th gear if speed is less than 3 mph for 40 seconds so would expect to see the MPH jumping or zero.

No problems that I've noticed with the speedometer reading correctly. FSM seems to point to the ECM being bad once it is determined the connections are clean and tight. Hopefully cleaning the connections has fixed it. If weather is good Saturday I'm going drive about 150 miles round trip to a cruise-in. We'll see if the code comes back. If so I think I will swap in another ECM and see if that fixes it.

I drove 144 miles yesterday. No code E024 in history yet. Maybe cleaning the connector fixed the problem. More time will tell.
