Thanks for the chart, it was interesting to see that alot of vehicles used the same filter cartridge around 1927

But is the metal work and fittings the same?

Maybe someone might have a photo Just have to wait and see!

Here is some more info on the filters:

Things are far from what you think!

I thought that the the hood brackets would be the far easier parts to find.

But I was wrong! They appear to be not available.  Someone must have them hidden away in their shed!

Not willing to past on to another restorer.

So I will have to try something else.

Many, many thanks to all that have tried to help!!!!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Have found a filter and purchased it from a fellow member.

It was one item that I thought I would never find!

Still looking for the brackets!

If anyyone can help with any information and measurement that would be a great help as well

Aunty Norm,

You need to be asking for "TOP IRON SUPPORT BRACKETS".

I'm also from a british colony where the folding roof is a HOOD but in the states they call it a TOP. You even had me confused ☺️.

Also try DFE customs and restorations in Australia, they bought out Australian hood irons and manufacture all that sort of stuff.

Aussie tel No. 0427 961 198

Best wishes Viv.

Thanks Viv

I was not sure what to call them as I have them called many names.

But your description sure sounds correct!

I will give DFE a ring on Monday and see if they are able to help me.

Plus I my try the forum again with the correct description and maybe have better luck.

Thanks Keiser for the endorsement. Actually I have had both the  round and square can fittings made.

They require some machining. We are having trouble getting the ball bearing to fit in.

But the filters are very low efficiency they can be used for show. 610-863-6955 or     astheime@ptd.net
