Can anyone tell me what this car is make and year wise?

My grandfather and I bought this half way solid body with intent on redoing. The plan is taking the body off the truck frame someone put under it. We planned on using body on a older race chasis that we have caged and bared up already. We are just trying to identify what body we actually have here.

It looks like it started life as a '37 or '38 GM B bodied  (two door sedan ?), probably a '38 Olds, before someone converted it to a coupe.

I agree with Dave H that this car was derived from a GM 4dr of that era . I'm not sure it's an olds. One giveaway is the firewall where it's pressed in for the back of a straight engine. You can see the roof where the rear doors area was eliminated and the back windows are a GM match. Here's a 38 Olds

Dave,  Agree that it might be from another GM car make instead, and could also be a '37.  The dash layout does follow the Olds's.  The front door looks too long for it to have been a 4 dr. sedan, so my guess is it was a 2 Dr.

I agree about the length of the door , too long for a 4 door. So I think it is possibly the front of a 2 door up to the rear of the door mated with the rear of a 4 door. A real mutt. Looks like it is based on a circle track jalopy so anything is possible.

Rear fender looks like a Hudson, 1941-1948.  Anyway, it's not what it used to be.
