I have some questions for you fellows. Is a posi unit year specific? also what gear ratios were available in what years ? Any info would be great,My education continues. (I tried a search but no dice,probability using the wrong prompts) I did find out that I have a 3.07 rear end BN code. Thanks in advance, Scott The only thing I know is that there are two different posi carriers - one for ratios less than 3.42 and one for ratios 3.42 and higher. As far as I know the available ratios for those years were 2.56, 2.79, 3.07, 3.23, 3.42, 3.55, and 3.91. (perhaps some others.) For some sponsored drag race cars from the era, there were apparently a few 4.45 ratios. The number of teeth (ratio) determined the width of the carrier.
