Correct finish

Does anyone know the correct finish for the exhaust manifold bolts?  

 

Also, what is the correct finish for the French locks that go with the exhaust manifolds.  I think that I'm correct in having six looped locks and four individual ones.

I think the correct finish for the exhaust manifold bolts is "rust".  :-D

 

I think the French locks are stainless, no?

 

If not, they will be finished in "rust", too.

That's what I have now.  Think I'll quit while I'm ahead. ☺ 

 

I don't think the locks are/were stainless.  I used a magnet to fish them out of the tumbler and they stuck to the magnet just like the bolts did.

I suspect the bolts were a shade of gray phosphate probably more on darker side as many bolts were. The locks were probably phosphate as well but could have been a medium gray. 

I looked at repop exhaust bolts from the Vette suppliers and they are dark phosphate. The repop locks on the other hand are stainless and don’t think originally they were.
