erutherford
Came across what appears to 46 Merc Woody Bumperettes front & rear. We were selling off parts from another marquee and these were in the pile of stuff. We want them to go to a good home for a fair price. Woodie parts aren't our expertise, so we are looking for help in establishing a value. thanks in advance for any help.
Dave Henderson
I'm thinking these are aftermarket, likely Van Norman bumperettes from the '40's. More often seen on Mopars
erutherford
On the top of the ball it reads " Van Auken Co Detroit".
46 woodie
Not Mercury or Ford for that matter. Aftermarket that would probably fit several vehicles using brackets for each year and make.
erutherford
So is there any value to them?
46 woodie
Probably cost more to chrome them than they are worth. If they were specific to a particular vehicle and an approved accessory for that car they would be collectable. Put them on E-Bay and see what they will bring. Not the type accessory too many would be interested in.

Not suitable for AACA judging, of course, but a perfect period accessory for protecting the die cast grille on my 1947 DeSoto Suburban of happy memory. And much better looking than the MoPaR accessory overrider. The Van Auken guards were a very high quality accessory.
