It was published by Motor Trend and contained artists sketches predicting what the new 1971 cars were going to look like. It compared them to the 1970 version. You can see that the rear of the boat tail is close to what was put in production but the front still resembles a 1970. Note the price of the Magazine! Chimera Posted February 24, 2018 Share Posted February 24, 2018 Imagine the 1970 Grill continuing across the entire front (or on a 71 for that matter), with either side having hideaway lights. I think I do prefer the more shark like front end of the 71 compared to the 70, but there is just something special about a transforming car when those hideaways go into action, hence the legendary clam shells.
