The supercharged intercooled 3800 reached 282hp according to the article. Interestingly in 1997 Lincoln had similar version of its Riviera competitor only it was a production car in the Mark VIII LSC which had special Chrome wheels, blacked out body chrome, modified exhaust, and what would become the famous 290HP DOHC 4.6L V8. Not impressive by today's standard by any means but back then, it was a powerhouse in what was a very light weight car.
