This must be the car that was in Automobile Quarterly in the article on 1928-'33 Studebaker Presidents.

I believe this car is the same one that has a Northstar V8 under the hood now.  One would never know it, unless you heard it running.

No, not the same car. That one is not a President.

I guess that would be the "1932 street rod". If that one is Northstar powered, it is then a unique Studillac. Plenty of pictures of Bill Frick Studillacs. I don't know if you have seen pictures of the Sonny Wisner Studillac. I have posted before, but you might have missed it. Cad 500 bored .050 over for a 514. The Webers are 45s, so it is not over carbureted by any means. My friend Sonny says that if he were not happily married, the "E" on the vanity plates would get lost. Of the two guys in black standing behind the car, Sonny is on the left. The greatest of the Cadillac hotrodders here in the Northwest for many decades. 'Round here, we have the most comfortable Summers in the USA. Originally, Sonny didn't put A/C in the car. The first time he went South to the festivities in Reno, he learned the error of his creative ways. Corrective measures were implemented. All which glitters, in this case, is indeed gold.

Sure. If you can post pictures of the '32, or provide a link, I know Sonny and I would enjoy seeing it. I can't speak for the reception that particular Studillac would get here.    -   Carl

Dick,

Wasn't that the car that the car that Phil Hill owned? I'm sure he was the one who removed the side mounts. After my misspent youth in post-war Studebakers, I was just getting my feet wet in the "Classics." I didn't know what the hell I was doing, some would say I still don't, and rightly so, but I knew that I liked that car. I contacted P. Hill, but was just a bit too late, it had been sold. I like the car both with and without side mounts, but side mounts sure make it a different looking car.
