NC-car-guy
Nice! I don't have a sand blaster. Not sure my 64 year old compressor would like it either.
thegnu
dove head long into getting the interior started tonight gutted the car out , repainted that horrid metalflake dash ! green steering wheel no more an the rest of the gloss black trim work painted . tomorrow assemble what I can , I dye the seats , headliner ,sun visors , and anything else that I can think of that needs it
thegnu
picked up where I left off on Saturday night , just wish I did not have to keep putting some things back in the car rugs should be here today an some other misc stuff . but 80% of the hard work is done on the interior . I ended up re-dying the front kick panels black they just didn't look right in the medium gray , an I honestly don't know why I even dyed them gray in the first place !
thegnu
i worked some late hours this weekend , absolutely everything in the interior is finished , except the crank handles an final stereo wiring as I am still waiting on my amps . I also made the decision to not worry about the vent window issue I have at this moment till I have had more time to find a new pair of left and right frames but those will have to be taken care of before I paint . inside looks like a whole different car !

Did you do your own door panels yes I did , I re-upholstered or made anything that I could ,myself . making the door sill plates was a new experience to me since I did not want to buy the 300.00 dollar correct ones at this time . I just wish my sheet metal brake was larger so I could have made them in 1 continuous piece . thegnu
started working in the trunk last night , made the sight wall in front so the trunk looks nice an clean, laid the first carpet an built a box for the sub woofer , a buddy of mine told me I'm going overkill on the stereo . lol . I had to explain to him that after working in a local ,large ,entertainment venue for some very big name artist's running stage monitors an some of front of house sound for 11 years you gain a appreciation for GOOD CLEAR SOUND that has the full range of tone an some low end chunk it becomes hard to listen to a standard stereo . thegnu
I have been at the trunk work off an on for a few days, making new side cards was a challenge but there they are . so now im thinking about a double hinged floor and enclosing the rear body panel then DONE ! for a while or not . an enjoy it this season before the big make over in the off season when I repaint it , silver top, lace paint , black body magenta flake , silver scallop .
thegnu
wow what a ride , life took over for a while , now I finally found some time to get back to work on my roadmaster an boy did i go at it . decided it was time to freshen up the engine bay an make a few custom mods that been on my mind. . cleared out everything that I could easily , refinished the motor , while I was in there I looked the inside over good , its got some sludging but no where close to some I have seen, cam looked good no visible unwanted wear , I scored a oem 4 barrel had that rebuilt, an a intake to match along with the spark plug wire covers, an all pieces of the factory aircleaner! from a 56 super (btw I disassembled that super for 4 hours I took everything I could need an some things I didn't ! including a set of good vent window assemblies so that hunt is over ! an only spent 350! ) installed a 7 blade clutch fan lowered the rad 1 inch an fixed its previously shoddy mounting now its like a rock , finned aluminum valve covers , valley pan , an breathers an many more lil things that had been bothering me took about 30 hours to get to this state , an it was time well spent . night an day difference !
