Vacuum controls? applications???

Recommended Posts

These were in a junk box from an auction. I'm guessing they all are controls for vacuum windshield wipers, but not sure. There are seven controls, and there are two pictures of each. The first three are similar construction but have different bends in the tubing, as are the next two.

The last two are identical, but one has knob, bezel and nut and other does not.  Now thinking these two could be for convertibe top.

Anyone able to identify the application for any of these?

Thanks!

Could they possibly be control valves and/or fittings for musical car horns, or other accessories like that?

More info:  I brushed some of the dirt off and found "Trico" stamped on the first 3.  Next 2 stamped "Trico Vacuum Governor".  Last 2 have patent numbers, nothing else.

Put the patent numbers into Google and you should find the patent papers.  That will tell you what they are.

They are Trico vacuum windshield wiper speed controls. Many millions were made.

The plastic butterscotch control knob in the last two photos is a match for 1942 Ford Super DeLuxe. The prior two photos without knob look like the same part.

There are three different varieties of this Trico speed control.

If you have some like in the one in the middle, I would be interested.  It need not be chromed.
