Curti
I got a box of Auburn parts and this was in it. I don't know what it is, but do know what it isn't.
keiser31
Has a crankhole cover look to me, but with the gasket, probably a gas cap. Edited December 15, 2017 by keiser31 (see edit history)
JACK M
Obviously designed to be directional. Radiator?
Curti
Maybe it isn't automotive at all...
m-mman
The area with the tangs seems to imply that the opening 'pipe' that this would cover is only 1.5 - 2 inches in diameter. That is an awfully small hole for a radiator and for an old fuel tank filler pipe. That size might be appropriate for the smaller unleaded fuel openings of the 70s - 80s but the diecast top is too high a quality for that era. Without a pressure relief it would not function as a radiator cap but the rubber washer is intended to make it seal rather than just cover. keiser31
Looks more like a stamped stainless top. The vents may indicate that it is a gas cap. I have actually seen a cap identical to that, but cannot remember where or on what vehicle.
Curti
I don't think it is newer that the 70's, ant it came from across the pond.
