Bluejeepnut
Would a distributor from a Chrysler model 58 engine fit and work on a Maxwell 25-C engine?

Bluejeepnut
Thank you. That should expand my search window. I’ve exhausted every known lead to date. Still hope something will emerge from the forum.
viv w
are you talking about the actual distributor or the diecast metal right angle drive
Bluejeepnut
The diecast right angle drive. With that, I am hoping that I can either find the correct distributor body or at least adapt one that will give good service.
hchris
OK add Plymouth U & Q to your search list, pretty sure the 28 - 30 Plymouths used the same distributor.

Taylormade
I have a 29 Plymouth distributor. Unfortunately, I sold the right angle base a few months ago. I can post pictures if you're interested.
frank29u
The P/N for the Q bracket/base is 815827 and for the U, 829188. They are different in some regard. I believe the Q would have a better chance of fitting the Maxwell engine. A friend had one machined from a block of aluminum for his 29U Plymouth. Here's a picture of a 29U base. Note the fractures and the shaft doesn't turn freely either. Good luck, frank
