stromberg ux for my 28 dictator

Recommended Posts

the carbs for the engine from the car I just brought home, and the parts engine are both broken around the top of the float bowl.  if anyone has one for sale, or suggestion on what else I can use as far as carb make and model, I'm all ears.

I also am going to paint the engine before it goes in so I'm looking for what is the proper green for the block.  I have some hunter green for a hit/miss engine I'm restoring but it looks too dark from the pics ive seen on here (?)

thanks - terry

The correct color of engine paint was first introduced in 1928 and used to the early 50's. It seems to match the 1928 car color spruce green. You can find examples of this color in samples on line. Maybe you can match it from there. It is what I would call a drab army green.

This is the color I used, it is called Army Green. It has held up well under heat and of course some oil and antifreeze. It also has the advantage of being under $4 a can

An aside if I may....

Ken, are those straight-down spark plug connectors the originals? I note you have have a right-angle connector on No. 6 which might mean you couldn't find any like that on No. 5?

I reused what was there, someone had put a modern spark plug wire on #6 and I have not gotten around to ordering any more of the straight down ends.

I have a UX2 carb I’m probably not going to reuse. It came off of a running and driving 28. Just pulled it last week. I’d have to do some research to see what a fair price would be. All the linkage appears to be intact like it should. I’ll take some pictures later in the week when I get to the shop and post them. It will probably be Thursday night.
