38Buick 80C
As some of you know I had been accepted to the Concours in Boca and Pinehurst failing to make it to either due to various mechanical issues attempting to drive to each event. If not here are links to those to threads. So for the Hilton Head Concours D'Eelegance I broke down (instead of the Buick) and borrowed a truck and trailer from a local Carolina Chapter BCA Member, Paul Haddock, and trailered the Buick to the show. Here are some photos from the event. A big thank you to Paul for letting me borrow his rig! My detailer getting the car ready for the show A few of the cars in my class. The red '37 Imperial won Best in Class Carol Hughes's 54 Buick took a Palmetto Award in Class, Beautiful car with Factory AC Here are some of my favorite non-Buick's of the show After lunch I came back to find this hanging from my rear view mirror Driving on to the awards field Let me take a selfie! Back in my spot Headed home!! Edited November 7, 2017 by 38Buick 80C (see edit history) 13
MrEarl
"BEST BUICK" !!!! Can't get no better'n that!!!! Congrats Brian. Beautiful Buick, beautiful family and what looks like was a beautiful sunshiny day all around. Just curious, how much room did Paul's trailer fenders afford you on the running boards of the Roadmaster? Met Paul at Hershey, seems like a nice guy(and not saying it just cause he has a '54 ) Any chance you've been invited to or have plans for Amelia? Congrats again, that 80C is one classy designed Buick, the epitome of all late 30's Buick designs imo. And so wonderfully restored!!

Marty Roth
Another "FIX" is to add 10-15% Diesel fuel to your gas tank. The car will smoke a bit, but this lowers the octane and helps make up for the "Corn-Gas" problems. Some will scoff and say it is nonsense, but my '41 Cadillac - even more prone to vapor lock than my '37 Roadmaster - ran the 2015 Glidden in Oklahoma City in heat as high as 115 degrees Fahrenheit, and I didn't even need to switch on the electric fuel pump the entire week.
