Triangle shape grease fitting--What are they for?

I think that they were called “dot” fittings, the only car I ever saw with them on was a 1922 or 23 Bay State made by R. H. Long in Framington Massachusetts  (I never was able to pin down the year). I sold the car to a collector in the early 1990’s who had since passed away - he was from Wisconsin near Milwaukee.

Thanks , research shows they were phased out about 1925 on cars , found some info that tractors used them up into 30's.

The grease gun required a quarter turn to lock in place. There were many other models of "Dot" fittings.

Looks like they are hard to come by , I've had these 25 years or more.
