Rockne Street Rod

Recommended Posts

I thought you might be interested in this 1932 Rockne street rod I photographed at a cruise-in in Charleston, SC. It's the first Rockne I've seen in person. It's interesting how the grooved pattern below the radiator shell is repeated in the rear.

"... the grooved pattern below the radiator shell is repeated in the rear. "

The '33 Model 10 did not have that "grooved pattern."  That would be identification tip #2. Identification tip #1 would be the curvature of the front fender brow. 1932 brow ran horizontal; while the 1933 dipped directly to the lower grill panel, which sported no ridges or, in your parlance, "grooved pattern." Less noticeable would be that the '32 ran 18" wheels and the '33 ran 17"; an identification lost on a street rod. ;) And those headlights appear European! :o "Not that there's anything wrong with that."
