JACK M
I have a guy that wants these fenders and hood if they will bolt up to his Desoto.
Rusty_OToole
What is the wheelbase of the cars? From working on Chryslers and DeSotos of that era and studying the repair manuals it seems they had a lot in common in terms of interchangeable parts especially chassis, brakes, wheels, suspension, engine and trans. I would not be a bit surprised if the front clip interchanged between six cylinder cars with the same wheelbase chassis. Have not done the swap myself and don't know anyone who has, and can't imagine why you would want to. But I bet you could. What are you going to do with the rest of the car? JACK M
Thanks Rusty, we hope you are correct in that assumption. I have these fenders and hood on Craig's List and there is a guy that likes the look of the front of the Chrysler better than what his Desoto looks like. And he likes the frenched headlights. They are both six cylinder cars so we are optimistic that they will work on his car. I also have extra of all the trim and chrome albeit not as good as one might like as it all has that pitting that these cars are common for. The guy is coming over tonight, I will keep you posted. https://portland.craigslist.org/yam/pts/6316668210.html The rest of the car looks like this now. I used a New Yorker for the chassis and front tin. And yes, its got a Hemi !! And a four speed.
