kclark
1929 Dictator 6 Is there a standard size for these. I want to procure one before I drop the pan to clean out any sludge. And where is the best place to get one?
Spinneyhill
Maybe the Studebaker vendors. I made my own. Buy a sheet of cork and make the gasket in 4 pieces with dovetail joints near the ends of the long sides. I haven't noted the thickness of cork I used but I would expect something like 2 mm. Don't tighten the bolts too much coz the cork squashes and the edges of the pan bend, meaning it doesn't seal. You should straighten out any kinks in the edges of the pan too, so it is perfectly flat.
automaschinewerks
for my Erskine I made the gasket from a roll of .060" gasket paper
Cowtown Commander
Olson's Gaskets have been a great supporter of the Antique Studebaker Club. I'll bet they will have something for you if you call them - they are on the Studebaker Vendor Site
