Beemon
Why didn't the shop do that? You paid them to repair it.
Mark Simmons
Great question Beemon and a personal pet peeve of mine. If I'm paying a shop to do a job whatever it is do a COMPLETE job. Then I'll completely pay the bill.
KongaMan
If they didn't replace a leaking seal, what did they fix?
Steanson
perhaps the shop only had the transmission? Bob's Automobilia, TTS-538 Stean Edited September 15, 2017 by Steanson (see edit history) 1

Bob's Automobilia, TTS-538 Stean Not that hard to replace. Usually part of the 'kit' and the shop should have handed to you.

It gets pressed in and rides on a smooth sleeve that's pressed on over the splines on the inner shaft. I have a few NOS for the 55 & older, but I think they changed the spec in 1956 with the "newer" style torque tube. I'll try to look up and get back or try to Google Olcar bearings, even if they don't have it, they may give you the # to cross up to modern. Good luck!
