33/34 Cowl shut line

I have a 33 PD and a 34 PE the hood doors are at the same angle but the contour across the top of the hood is completely different, to be exact the 33 at the center is 1 1/4" shallower at the center. As Dodge and Pymouth used the same bodies? did Dodge also change the top contour for 1934.

Throughout the automotive bodywork trade where 2 panels meet the gap is called The Shut Line.

The gap = shut line, but is the profile or shape, which you refer to in the last post, also the shut line? I think we are all confused about what you are asking. Try layman's terms - I am not in the body trade and really can't figure what you are asking. Or why.

Are you asking if they used the same hood? Or the same cowl? or ?

Photo1/2 PD/PE Hood doors

Photo3 PD Hood Top under the PE , now what I am asking is did Dodge make the same profile change in 1934 and was it both the cars and commercials. The straight edge parallel to the bottom of the photo is the center hinge joint Thanks for looking.
