ptt Posted August 7, 2017 Share Posted August 7, 2017 The ac system has been converted to R134a by PO. Was performing fine for a few seasons before compressor manifold tube cracked. Barney Eaton Posted August 7, 2017 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I did not know the answer so I looked it up.... the ratio is...if you need 2 lb of R12 then you need 1.8 of 134. padgett Posted August 10, 2017 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Knowing the proper amount is good but I usually tune to the pressures. Thing about 134 is that the high side runs higher than 12 and if you put too much in can exceed 300psi particularly if the condenser is dirty or the fans do not work properly.
