SPEEDO

Recommended Posts

Keeps you from getting a ticket as bad! ;) (OK..smart @ss reply, I know)

Honestly there's a lot of factory cars out there that the speedo reads fast. Some do it on purpose.

There are a few different speed distance sensor gears, but 5mph I think is well within the % error that's acceptable.

MY SPEEDO READS 5MPH FAST. I HAVE 225/50/16 TIRES.

ANY THOUGHTS?? THANKS!

Remove your distance sensor and see which drive gear you have. Replace it with a gear that has one more tooth on the gear.

There are 3 different gears as defined, the yellow gear has 19 teeth and is designed for 14", 15" and 16" tires; the blue gear has 20 teeth and is designed for 13", 14" and 15" tires; there is also a white gear with 21 teeth and I don't know the intended tire size.
