28-27-buick
I am having trouble with corrosion in my brass body marvel carb. I have cleaned the system and went to nonethenal gas. I have marine stable in the fuel. any idea how to fix this. Herb
mcdarrunt
We ran straight alcohol (methanol) in our circle track car and that stuff really corrodes. After the races each week we drained the alcohol but left the carburetor bowls full. A fuel hose from a can of 25 to 1 oil/gas mix was hooked to the pump and the mix was pumped into the carb while the engine was running on the gas left in the bowls. It would smoke like crazy and die on its own. Cut way back on corrosion and only took 10 minutes max after a few cycles.
28-27-buick
Thank you for the information. I will try using a oil mix and see if this might help HERB

I have not had any problems with fuel on my Marvel with corrosion. Post some pictures of what you are talking about and it could be something else.
28-27-buick
Larry I am driving a 1928 standard . the marvel has a cast bronze body. I am trying out a light mixture of transmission fluid in the fuel to see if this will help. Herb

Fred Rawling
I have not had any problem with corrosion. Could it be the fuel stabilizer? Fred
