DWiz
I live in a Chicago suburb. I have a 1941 Lincoln Continental. I am looking for an experienced mechanic to possibly overhaul, or at least figure out why the engine is over heating. My garage or his place. 19tom40
I live in the Northwest suburbs am not a mechanic by trade, just a (re)tired old man. But I can give you some advice on overheating. Most of the time it is because the radiator is not working like it should. A clean radiator and block are necessary to cool the engine. If you have not had it done, I would pull the radiator and take it to a GOOD radiator shop and have them clean it for you. While it is being cleaned, plug the lower hose outlets and fill the block with vinegar and let it sit for a couple of days, then flush each side thoroughly first from the bottom hose and then from the top hose. If you have had the radiator cleaned, then please describe the conditions that cause the engine to overheat.
