John Byrd
Does anyone know of a good source for the latches that are on top of the windshield frame for a 40 Mercury ? A pal has one broken and one cracked, and is searching for some. Thanks, John
keiser31
If they are the same as 1940 Ford, Bob Drake in Grants Pass, Oregon may stock them.
John Byrd
Thanks keiser31, and I have mentioned Bob Drake, Mac's, Sacramento Ford, and Dennis Carpenter to him. It seems the Merc versions are kinda' hard to find, but he is supposed to bring one to lunch today for a couple of us to look over. He is rather new to the old car world, so it may be easier than he thinks. One guy told him 600 bucks for a pair, but he would have to "make" them !!!! Thanks for your response sir ! keiser31
If you could post a photo or two here, we may have something like it lying around that we don't know what it goes to.
John Byrd
Ok sir, I will snap a pic of it either today if he brings it to lunch, or tomorrow morning at our breakfast car club get together. Thank you !
John Byrd
Hey Keiser31, I went with our pal to the shop that is doing the work on his car today, and they have already ordered some assemblies to be custom made ...he said out of brass or bronze, so they wouldn't break like the pot metal ones. So, I guess thanks anyway ! Edited May 27, 2017 by John Byrd (see edit history)
