Identify desoto tags

Hello everyone, 

 

I found these 2 tags in the glove box from a 1946 desoto deluxe coupe. 

 

I needed some help identifying this number (984255) Followed by a date (1/10/1946) build date maybe? Trying to figure what the first numbers mean. (Upload some photos of it)

 

Second one is a BUDD MFG. CO tag. Did this tag come on the Desoto? I know BUDD CO. built steel bodies, but no mentioning about Desoto only Chrysler and other makes.
