1930 Pontiac compression check

Recommended Posts

Did a compression check on my '30 yesterday. Engine has been sitting for at least a month and wasn't warmed up (couldn't).  Came up with readings from low 60's to 70.  Seemed pretty good to me?  Couldn't find anything in the service manual to guide me.  Engine runs very well.

Your compression seem okay.  The reading should be the compression ration, 4.9 in your case times the atmospheric pressure which is 14.7 at sea level or about 13.9 in your location. (5000 ft is .95 of pressure at sea level).  So 68 pounds would be expected.
