Guest Pete611
Morning friends, we finishing up the 1928 Fast Four engine for our customer. But I don't believe the distributor is correct for this engine. It is a Delco Remy 635b model. I thought it should be a North East Distributor, Thanks for any help

Ron Lawson
Pete611 The reason that you have a Delco distributor is that the North East units are made of Pot Metal and are prone to falling apart The Montana Boys that are racing DB fast 4s may have spares for sale
Guest Pete611
Mr. Lawson, thank you for the information. we have fit the delco distributor in and waiting for the customer to make a decision if he wants to use it or find a different one. I will contact the Montana boys and see if they may have any spare parts. Thank You again.
Guest mohrrodsman
Pete611 what did you figure out with the distributor? I am putting together a fast four now and just looking to rebuild the original Norh East one will cost about $800. Is the Delco Remy working with it? David_Leech
When these distributors fall apart, do they drop parts in the engine or just crumble externally?
Guest mohrrodsman
Crumble externally. The base housing just flakes and crumbles apart. Myers has a replacement for it if you want to stay original. http://www.myersearlydodge.com/image.php?ws_page=ignition.php&ws_image=MVC-716F.JPG
robert b
The Delco dissy out of chev 4 of late 20s is the best choice ,as it has the closest advance curve to the North East unit . At least is made cast iron.bee running them for 35 years
