Guest Winston1
Can anyone tell me, or show me a picture- of what the trunk should look like in a 48 New Yorker? I am having an upholstery shop work on this, and have no basis for it being that it has nothing in the trunk now. Rusty_OToole
I believe they had a floor mat made of a woven material, possibly with a jute underlay. The mat was reddish brown with a pattern woven in if I recall correctly. The rest of the trunk was painted either body color or gray. I am trying to recall all this from last seeing one about 30 years ago. I hope someone chimes in with a photo.
Guest Winston1
So there were no side boards to create walls?
c49er
The Town and Country cars had full trim including the sides and trunk lid being upholstered. The steel body convertible cars had black pebble grained matting on the sides with a rubber floor mat. The 3 passenger coupes also had a full rubber trunk mat. The 4 doors and coupes I believe had a fiber/ cloth type of trunk mat with no side wall trim All cars used a cardboard panel up against the back seat. A trunk picture from a 1948 Chrysler salesman's book.......
