1963 Riviera Idler Arm Question

2 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

The question: Were there two different OEM suppliers for the 1963 Riviera power steering-equipped idler arm? I thought there might be, but everything I'm finding on line only references the Saginaw idler arm (photo below). This idler arm does not resemble the idler arm I've seen on many '63 Riv's....the one with the large nut on the bottom, and internal- and external-threaded bushing.

Could someone please shed some light on this? Thank you! John

Can't answer your question directly, but there's an idler arm rebuild kit that supposedly fits a "Threaded Bushing Type Idler Arm" for all first generation Rivieras.
