Reg Evans
Where would I find the data plate on my 56 Chrysler New Yorker. It's not on the door jambs or firewall. Help !?!?
c49er
In front of the radiator on the slash pan behind the grille.
StillOutThere
Agree w/ c49er. Open hood, look down behind the grille on the driver's side of the hood latch. As nice as your car appears, it should be readily apparent. Chrysler attached with Phillips screws so hopefully you have a plate and not just two holes in the area. Attached pic was of one down in the dirt of a long stored 300B.
Reg Evans
Well, godfreedaniels ! It's gone. The previous owner powder coated some of these parts and did not put the plate back. SMS Auto Fabrics wanted the numbers from it so they could figure out what upholstery was installed with the car. I need to re-do the fabric parts of the seats and door panels. It's like this sample but more of a coral color. My car is a '56 New Yorker Newport. Thanks for the help !
