Guest 19Silver63
What is the best way to clean 63 to 65 turbine style cast aluminum wheel covers? Dip in vinegar? Polish with a dremel? What have you done that works?
RivNut
Start with a good scrubbing using SOS pads. Then go over them with some 800 grit wet/dri paper (wet) and finish with a rouge and polish on a buffing wheel. That's if you want a shiny polished aluminum look. Used the sos pads, scrubbed and scrubbed, looks good! Good enough to drive! Thank you!
RivNut
You can take out the curb rash by starting with a fine tooth file. You'll change the profile some but..... Then start using wet/dry paper, maybe 400 grit for starters, then work your way finer and finish by polishing. It just takes time.
Guest 19Silver63
Yeah, time is the issue! I got other things on the car that take priority, like installing seat belts next! but I love these original turbines with spinners, they are awesome looking in any condition
