16Max38Ply
I am redoing the dash and window moldings on a 1938 Plymouth Coupe. Does anyone know what colors were available, I have seen Dark Brown and Wood Grain only. Are there formulas available for the original colors or is it a matching situation? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
ply33
Typical for Plymouth in that era was wood grain for dash, window surrounds, etc. on closed cars and body color for convertibles. Can't say for sure that was also true for the 1938 models but it seems likely to me.
Guest
Is your coupe a P5 or a P6? The P5 had solid color dash and window trim. The P6 had woodgrain. I have a '38 P6 coupe. I had my body shop paint my dash and trim a chocolate brown, then I woodgrained over top with a lighter brown, then had the body shop clear coat it all. Turned out pretty well I think. Guest
Should be a lot easier for you then if your car is a P5. Simple dark brown like the second picture in Jdee's file. Post a couple pics when you get a chance. Good Luck!
