Guest Shaker121
I interested in buying a 72 Ventura that has a small block Chevy in it. What is needed to put a Pontiac V8 in it? I have a complete 74 GTO Shaker Hood and will need the Pontiac engine to sit exactly where it would if it was factory installed. EmTee
Best case scenario would be to find a similar Ventura with a 350 Pontiac drive train in a junkyard and grab the motor mounts, transmission crossmember, driveshaft, and accessory drive brackets, PS pump, etc. Basically everything in your Venova which was replaced when the SBC was installed. Guest Shaker121
They are really hard to find, but that is an excellent idea. If I can find one I'd try to get the whole sub frame with engine and all.
Guest Shaker121
Does anyone know If the motor mount brackets on the frame rails of the Pontiac engine Venturas are the same as the 67-69 Firebirds? They share a lot of chassis parts with the X-body cars.
EmTee
Not sure about Firebird/Ventura subframe interchange. But, I did find the following: http://www.dvap.com/salvage/1974-pontiac-ventura-74po1917d/ http://www.dvap.com/salvage/1973-pontiac-ventura-2dr-sdn-73po6070c/ http://www.dvap.com/salvage/1973-pontiac-ventura-73po3450d/ http://www.dvap.com/salvage/1973-pontiac-ventura-2dr-sdn-73po6070c/ http://www.dvap.com/salvage/1972-pontiac-ventura-72po3852r/ http://www.dvap.com/salvage/1971-pontiac-ventura-71po0315c/ Seems like DVAP has multiple options to source the pieces you're looking for...
