Wanted: Piston for 1923 Moon 6/40 continential engine

Wanted piston for a 1923 6-40 Moon engine.  Have a piece out of piston skirt.  Inside of piston skirt says 1951.  The rod assembly says contitinental 6Y  D-302-9-O.  Only need the piston but will take the whole assembly.  This piston has three rings.  Thanks, Jan

Your going to end up making pistons.......not too difficult, and cost runs about 150 each with rings and pin. I would use Aries or Ross.

Ed thanks for the suggestion.  I contacted them both along with EGGE and every one wants to sell me six pistons.  It is a solution which I may have use.

I have a large quantity of NOS pistons. If you can send me the dimensions I will have a look.

Barry the piston has a 3.116 in diam.,3.2675 height, and the distance from bottem of skirt to bottem of wrist pin is .967.

Barry did you come up with any matches.  A piston from a Durant Star (W4) 1922-24 will also fit.

I have a huge pile i have to pick up,  that I was thinking of just scrapping although they are all new.  I know there is atleast a very large garbage pail overfull of them and several in boxes.  Probably atleast some from the 20's.  I have to move them this weekend.  If I get a chance I'll take a look.   It would be easier if there was some unique feature to visually ID them quicker.

The only unique thing I see on the piston is a raised lettering on the pin boss inside the piston of "1957" which may or may not be on replacement pistons.  It is a piston of 3 1/8 with a height of 3 1/4, three ring full skirt with the distance from the bottem of wrist pin of .967.  Since this is for a series 6Y it would have also been used in 23-25 Auburn, Anderson, Barley, columbia, Davis and Hanson.  Thanks for looking.

finally the barn was warm enough to have a good look and no cigar. most of my nos pistons have much deeper skirts 

I recomend  Egge or  Ross in California for pistons
