motoringicons
This 1952 MGTD was purchased by the current owner in 2003. Prior to that, that car was owned by a collector in New Mexico and was likely restored in the late 1990s. Today, this car presents well and has always been maintained. It has been driven about 1,700 miles since the restoration was completed. During the last year the car received a overall mechanical servicing by Muncie Imports including rebuilt brakes. This car runs and drives well. The engine starts easily, idles and accelerates well, does not smoke or overheat and makes good oil pressure. The engine was just given a major tune up and the compression checked out at 120 on all four cylinders. The four speed transmission shifts easily and the clutch is smooth. The brakes and steering are extremely responsive. All of the features such as the gauges, lights, horn, wipers, etc operate as they should. The body is extremely solid and straight. Looking underneath the car, there are no signs of damage, neglect or repair. You can tell this was always a good, tight car. The maroon paint has the expected nicks and scratches but has a good look to it and a strong overall gloss. The chrome is very clean and would likely clean up even better. The interior is in very good condition including the seats, door panels, carpets and storage area. The dash board is excellent with a very clean and clear set of gauges. The car retains its original chassis/engine and body plates and the engine number and frame number matches the data plate as it should. The car has a full set of side curtains and a matching, full length tonneau cover. This is a super clean and ready to enjoy MGTD that looks right from all angles. The price is a very reasonable 17,500.00 and the car is located near Indianapolis, Indiana. motoringicons
Hi Steve- The owner decided he wanted to keep the car and use it during the summer, so I took it off the market. He spent some more money on the car and enjoyed it a little. Now, he has decided to sell it again.
