Elpad Posted May 4, 2019 Author Share Posted May 4, 2019 Well, I have not touch the car for about two month! I have to finish this before AACA Winter Nationals to be held here at home, Miami. The car is ready for blocking Prep and paint but waiting for my resources to take the tome to finish it right. In the meantime some chrome is back and could not resist putting the trunk ornament together. Parts came out outstanding! I can recommend this place. Elpad Posted May 18, 2019 Author Share Posted May 18, 2019 (edited) Well, this is the third set of front bumper guards I’m working with. To date, this is the best set to be send out for plating after removing a broken bolt. One set still in Cuba to be duplicated in stainless steel, another is locally being repaired and may be for sale at a later date as good cores. Enjoying the restoration journey! These were obtained through evil bay and turn out the seller is a member of the club. Thanks 87WE2 aka Paul. This will be done at the body shop probably next month. Done working under a shade tree! enjoyed getting down to business as part of the hobby but it is time for the professional finish. I got two more front guards that I acquired here in the good old USA which were in better shape and doing locally. I will sell the other ones if I ever get them back. Kind of lost contact there. Elpad Posted December 27, 2019 Author Share Posted December 27, 2019 Well, another set back! The guy that was to work on my car decided not to do it after all. The car spent 4 months in a friends warehouse while I searched for someone to finish the car. Is been a mission, nobody wants to work on it. No one wants to prep a car that will be factory black. Body shops are out of the questions since they want about ten grands to do a half way to finish automobile. The car has been stripped to the metal and all metal work done. Elpad Posted December 29, 2019 Author Share Posted December 29, 2019 I had to take the bull by the horns and tackle this body alignment and preparation by myself and with the help of a friend that has body shop experience and now works refinishing boats.
