24T42
Well, it that time of year again. No, not Christmas! Has anyone heard anything yet about the Master Editor awards-either print or web? Judy
Guest Mark McAlpine
Our region's webmaster and editors received letters today notifying them they were selected for national awards. Our webmaster--Bob Stein--was recognized with a Master Webmaster Award, a remarkable 16 in a row. He's received the award every year it has been offered, and received a special award in 2000 the year before the web awards program started. Obviously, the volume of mail this time of year is overwhelming, so it may still be another day or two before all award winners receive their letters. I'm sure you're going to be one of them, Judy, and will also receive your well-deserved 16th award in a row. The Brass Nickel Region's On the Road, Again newsletter is an outstanding publication. Marion & I look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.

John_S_in_Penna
After a year's work, it's always nice to get some sort of letter of condemnation--oops, I mean commendation. Thanks to a number of contributors, the Gettysburg Region's newsletter received notice of a Master Editor award for 2016. tcmb67
I was honored to receive one for the Minnesota Region and for Capitol City Chapter. I am sorry that my wife or I cannot attend. It's been many years since we attended.
Bob47
Although I said I got my letter on Friday I may have been mistaken as to the level of the award. After rereading these post, particularly Mark McAlpine’s, and rereading my letter it is not clear to me what award I have won. It says I have won an “AACA Webmaster Award”, with no mention of Master or any other designation.
prewar40
I received a Master Editor for the Capitol City Chapter. Congratulations to all! Kim Gardner

That would be a "National Award", one you would receive "under the lights" in Philly if you are able to attend. These letters allow the winners to prepare for the Saturday night awards dinner. John_S_in_Penna
Does anyone here have the statistics? How many Master Editor Awards were given, and out of how many newsletters judged? (Also, how many regions to we have altogether in the A.A.C.A.?)
prewar40
John, 84 newsletters were entered with 20 Master Editor Awards, 18 Excellence, 34 Distinction and 12 Merit awards. I don't know the total number of regions or the number that have newsletters. Kim Gardner
